Town of Clover Special Election

This Special Election is being held to fill a vacant seat on the Clover Town Council. The unexpired term runs approximately three years and eight months, ending on December 31, 2029 .

Residents of the Town of Clover who are registered to vote in South Carolina are eligible to vote in this election. If you are unsure if you qualify to vote, check your registration at SCVotes.gov . Look for a Sample Ballot for the Special Election. If you don’t see the Special Election listed, you are not eligible to vote in this Special Election (everyone should see the Statewide Primary listed).

How to Vote in this Special Election

Early Voting:

The Early Voting period runs from Monday, April 20 through Friday, May 1, 2026.

All early voting takes place at the York County Government Center, 6 South Congress Street, Level 1, Suite 1201, in the Town of York. The polls will be open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday only. This polling location is closed on weekends.

Election Day, May 5, 2026

Election Day for this Special Election is May 5, 2026.

In-person voting will take place at your assigned precinct location from 7 am to 7 pm. Find your precinct location by checking your voter registration at SCVotes.gov. You may vote only at your assigned Precinct location on May 5.

The deadline to register to vote for this election has already passed (if you’re not registered, you’ll want to get that done now for the June 9 Primary).

Photo ID Required: You must bring an accepted form of photo ID to vote. Acceptable forms include a SC Driver's License, SC Voter Registration Card with Photo, US Passport, or Federal Military ID .

Absentee (Vote by Mail)

The deadline to request an absentee ballot for this election is April 24. Absentee ballots must be received by 7 pm on Election Day. Details on absentee voting are here on our Voting in York County page.
